It is nice, but it costs the better part of $1k

thanks! i think im gonna go with the pdx5.. it seems ideal for what i want and after i buy all new speakers and sub i think its gonna sound awesome.. as for sub size, im still not to sure.. either 10 or 12...? but now that i know what amp i just gotta find which sub is good for that amps rms and everything.. i also have a aftermarket headunit (pioneer x910bt) so i really dont need to go to a mono then a 4 channel.. like i said im not looking for quarters to bounce out of my cup holders, just an overall improved sound system

as far as having enough power. i bought a stealth box and put a 250w Memphis on it(187w at 3ohms). it sounded worse than a powered bazooka 10. so i order a new jl amp 500/1 hopefully it will be in tomorrow. everyone i have talked to and have read on internet is to go bigger than what you need. you can always turn it down if its to much but can never turn a small amp up because of clipping that can destroy a brand new speaker.
That's the amp I'm going with...Bad@ss! With JL ZR seperates and the new JK specific stealth box

I have a JL 500/1 on a pair of Orion XTR 12's that sound good. That same amp blew my JL 12W4s in a few days during the tuning phase. Love the JL stuff. I have a JL 12W7 that need to be repaired. Bought it off ebay for $100.

I just finished installing the following in my Unlimited and am extremely impressed with the sound. It has completely surpassed my expectations (which honestly weren't too high due to the speaker locations).

Pioneer AVIC-F90BT

Alpine PDX-100.4 running mids & highs

Polk MM6501s in stock dash location (tweeters were fun, lots of grinding the dash pod)

Polk MM651s in soundbar

MTX monoblock (don't remember the model, left over from my last system)

Resonant Engineering SE12 (sealed box)

lmao! I wondered if anyone got what I said about amps claiming 40w. lol. for everyone who isn't an old school dork, the Punch 45 was real popular back in the 90s cause it claimed to put out 22.5W per channel but would pump 80-90 per channel all day long at 4ohms. Oh, and you could run them at 2ohms. They really put out like 300 watts. 22x has made my night.

BTW, Im not old. I have just been into car audio for like 15 years

LOL ! I'm not that old but it feels like it when I tell people that when I built my first system at the age of 15 the CD player had only been out for almost a year ! 4 mtx 10's were the thing to have and the 18 inch woofer had'nt been thought of.
