Default Stock Alpine system

I have a '13 JKU that didn't have the upgraded audio system in it from the factory. An awesome forum member hooked me up with the sub, amp and the 4 speakers for the alpine kit. I installed the sub, which plugged right into a harness that was behind the existing interior paneling. I also put in the 2 speakers in the roll bar and 2 in the dash. My question is, how do I hook up the amp and the head unit to the speakers/sub? The regular speakers work but the sub doesn't. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Bump!

Surely someone out there has replaced their factory RES unit with an aftermarket unit and can hook this guy up with the wiring harness that runs to the amp?

I think that the speaker outputs feed thru the amp. So you would have to relocate the speaker wires to the amp. And then run new wires from the HU to the amp. But that isn't the bad part. The amp is controled from the CanBuss. So you would have to patch the amp into the comm loop. Then remap the comm loop so that the system knows the amp is there.

Good Luck with this install.

Give the OE amp to your dog. He will have more fun with it than you will. Buy an aftermarket mono amp. Tap the speaker wires inside the sound bar to feed the aftermarket amp. Wire tha amp to the sub.
