yeah i am uploading a little video for you showing my vision in my mind. i don't know how well this will work but its the only decent idea i have had for the subs. hopefully you'll see what i mean once i have the video up. its only a 30 second video but it's taking a while uploading

oh jl audio has a sh!t load of marine products: amps and subs. i hate that its all white though :puke:

ok the sub is a jl audio 8w3v2. yes the are 8" subs, i dont care for 10's so please no comments on the size they run perfect for what i listen to and the rest of my setup (when i buy it) complements them great.

As far as the water goes, use rubber seal around drainhole plugs...that should keep the water away. If ur thinking about driving in 4 ft of water, then stop trying to put amps and subs in ur Jeep because that's just plain stupid. But obviously if u knew what u were doing, u wouldn't be out here asking people for help.

you are correct sir. i know it wont happen for a while cause i know it's gonna cost to get a custom stereo shop to weld. thats the only way i want it. welded and bolted in. then i might get everything line-x sprayed.

I am going with the MB Quart Nautic NAA665 for the Six Speakers and
maybe a JL Audio e1800D Amp for a DVC Sub. I might even Use an amp I have laying around and Use a conformal coating on it.

I wonder if you could waterproof the tub area with adding some weatherstripping to the Tuffy Cubby Cover... But then there would be no airflow and here we go again!

Sheesh! Exactly! That is a good idea, and you're right - that's all they are doing on those marine amps is coating for corrosion.

The more we talk and the more I think about it - just sounds to me like there truely is no "good" option here. Most likely I'll just have to pull the trigger and hope for the best.

I would think linex/rhino would adhere to that just fine. Not a bad idea as well. If its on mdf, might need to rough up the surface a bit to give it something to bite to.

Either way, the box needs to be wrapped around w/ some type of thick fabrick...or else it will sound really bad, especially if its touching any part of the body (metal).....which is why I put the carpet back in the tub...and now is bumps + no vibrations = PERFECTO! :2thumbs:

Jake...I know you want to waterproof your amp and all...but remember onet hing. You need to let your amp breathe some air too...don't make it air tight or else you'll be burning that amp....
