Has anybody had trouble with their traction control button not working. I have a '13 2 dr sport. I can hold the button all day long and no effect or I can tab the button but still nothing happens. Looking for opinions. Thanks! Click image for larger version

What are you expecting the jeep to do when you hit the button? Does the light illuminate on the dash? Have you hit the button then tried to spin your tires on a wet surface.....with beyond excessive throttle??

Answer those and try the last one- please and thank you. Those answers will help us help you.

I am expecting the light to come on and hear the ding. I have tried pressing the button while off roading in sand when when I would spin the tires it kicked on traction control.

And the light would flash as I could feel the brakes engaging

The light should come on but you will not hear a ding. In 2hi and 4hi you'll still experience the brakes grabbing but in 4lo you will not be restricted except by speed.

Kicking up sand will be pretty limited unless you go with the 'esp kill mod'.

The button doesn't do enough for me so I installed a kill switch, instead of doing the steering wheel dance, or pulling the J6 fuse

People have posted here in the past that holding the button for five seconds or more will completely turn of the traction control at least in 4x4 hi and lo. With my 2013 this is not the case it only partially kills it, and you still can't cut a donut. The only way to completely turn it off with the factory button is to shift to 4-lo, and then the BLD is still active.

To completely kill the traction control in 4x4 hi or 2WD you must install a kill switch.at least on a 2013 like mine.

Happy Jeeping
