I like the integrated look of the Quadratec Garmin / Jeep Trailguide but would recommend a Garmin Nuvi or Steetpilot (except 28xx).

I've owned a Streetpilot c330 for several year but gave it as a gift when I got my '07 JK with built-in navigation (MyGIG). I currently have a Nuvi 200 for the wife and GPSMAP 478 for my boat.

The Nuvis and Streetpilots have comprehensive maps and points of interest (POIs) built-in on an internal hard drive. With many other GPSs, you have to map everything out on a PC and download it to the receiver or purchase map cards with limited coverage areas.

Other than the built-in maps, the real benefit is the touchscreen. It makes entering addresses and POI selection *very* easy by simply typing on the keyboard that appears on the screen of the GPS. The Jeep Trailguide and most hand-held GPS units have force you to enter everything via a joystick-like multi-directional pad. It works but really sucks (and you definitely wouldn't want to enter an address or lookup a POI while driving).

The downside to the Nuvi / Streetpilot solution is they're geared toward on-road travelling. The won't record a trail for you if you go off-road. Depending on your needs, this may be a dealbreaker.

The MyGIG available in the '07 - '08 Jeeps gives you the best of both worlds in that it is a touch-screen GPS that will record and save off-road trails. Not sure if that would be an option for you due to price or model of Jeep you have.

.
My Nuvi 760 does show trails as you move, you can turn it on and off very easily.

also you can drag the file onto your Mac in my case or PC and watch yourself driving around with google earth very kool. i was going to sell it but MYgig is good at one thing and the Nuvi 760 is good for geocaching bluetooth and Topo maps. and custom point of interests ie beeps if i go to fast warns me of speed cameras coffee shops etc... most are free from this site. http://www.poifriend.com/
