Uconnect Microphone swap/replace/change
Has anyone swapped the microphone for their Uconnect?
Splice the wire and add a better one? a more sensetive mic?
I keep getting complaints from whoever I call that they can barely hear me.
I really have to scream to get a point across.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Where do you have your mic mounted?
I haven't heard too many people on the forum complain about the mopar mic, only about the one some people were getting with the lockpick. Personally my Mopar one doesn't seem to have any issues. The only exception is if I have the top down/windows open, then I do have to raise my voice some, but aside from that it's great.

I've changed it's location 3 times...
first right behind the wiper switch ... then next to the stero head
now on the seat belt coumn... i still have to shout with the windows and hartop up and no a/c. unless i'm at a light.

Maybe you've just got a bad mic?
Here's where I've got mine and no problems from day one, with the exceptions I mentioned above. Oh, add to that list, if I have the heat or a/c blowing on high then I've got to raise my voice too, but that's not often since the heat will practically melt your face off when on high.

I've got mine centered above the rear view mirror on the windshield plastic, and it's worked very well. As far as rewiring though, I believe it is just a matter of the two wires. However if you get something that's more sensitive, it might pick up more ambient noise, and not make the situation any better. Do you have the means to try someone else's mic? If so then you could determine that it is in-fact the mic.

I had mine on my 2008 where saharablack has is.. and ot worked decent... when I got my 2009 it was already placed on the left A-pillar at the top and it seems to work better for me up there.. but I tend to drive with the seat raised high and a bit forward... people say they hear me better now than when the mic was down low
