Default Upgrading grounds and Alternator +

So I have a mess going on, If our batteries werent a rats nest already I would feel pretty bad. I upgraded my grounds because I am tired of my lights dimming off every little bass hit from my 500w system... Yeah, I could get a capacitor...If I had room haha

I upgraded the power wire going from the alternator to the battery and then it runs 14.8-15.3 and I cant run my system without a high voltage reset occuring... Since then I took my wire out..

Although I look at the wire coming from the alternator and there is heatshrink tubing close to the battery which makes me think, is there a fuse in there? Maybe a resistor or what that is making the voltage come out of the alternator drop down to normal levels? Maybe a solenoid in the fusebox..?

Alright... I think I figured it out!

Whats inside of this heat shrink tubing?
Its directly connected to the alternator, so a wire of a different gauge wouldnt create an increase of voltage, so why is that there?
