Default Using A-pillar lights in Virginia.

Just wondering if any of the Virginia peeps know the law on having A-pillar lights mounted. I know at one time if you had them mounted on a roll bar or anywhere on top they could not even be wired in or you would get a ticket. I do not plan on using them on the paved roads, just off road.

Never heard of any laws that say you can't have em. Most laws just say you have to have a cover on em.

They have to be cover in VA. I have to do that to mine when I got it inspected.

This is how I handle mine. Usually run uncovered unless going in for inspection, not had any problems so far.

It also depends on where you get it inspected. I usually take mine to the dealership and they haven't knocked me on my HIDs yet. That being said, the gas station down the road from me has a reputation for not letting anything slip by them (which is good depending on the issue).

I had no issues with uncovered A-pillar mounted lights. The bi-xenon retrofit projector headlights didn't fare as well.

At least in fairfax country northern va. I've run my lights uncovered, as well a rock lights behind my bumper on while driving down the roads. Never had any cop trouble.
