Default what guage wire for license plate
hey guy's gonna be relocating my license plate to the spare, I'm gonna tap into the oe wires going to the plate light now what guage wire should I use ? any help would be appreciated

That's gonna be real low in current draw. I'd probably use stranded 18 gage, though you could probably go as thin as 22 or 24.

^ yep. 18 or 20 stranded. You may find it easier to tap the running light on the rear passenger brake light. It's much easier to run through the rear door harness etc. and just follow the path of the 3rd brake light.

License and tail light bulbs on earlier JKs are 18 gauge.
License and park lamps on later JKs are 20 gauge.

Default Lic Plate Relocation
I relocated mine to the spare and got the Light pigtail the cut off the light and extended the wire running it across the bottom of the bumper and up the pass side into the tailgate. makes it easy as the oem plug and play..
