What are the odds of...
Mel Karmazin, ceo of Sirius, has said that the existing radios will be able to receive each other's channels once all the logistics of the merger are handled. I'd expect only to see the labels change to show the name as "Sirius XM".
Exactly. They made sure that the each radio would be able to receive signals from both. It wouldn't be good business practice to make every single subscriber buy a new radio if they want the new channels.
I am hoping that those of us w/ the mygig will have two tabs to choose from. One for Sirius and one for XM. That way you don't have to scroll thru 300 something channels to find what you want. Just my thought. Keep it simple.
They've already said that they will have tiers of service. If you want both, you'll have to pay more now that you already are.
Plus, they will likely drop the stations that overlap significantly if not enough people want them. I only hope they keep it more like Sirius and don't put all kinds of commercials on it. XM sucked with the commercials.
