Default White lights?

I have a 50" light bar and the light on it burns white, I was wondering what I could do to make have my current lights (which burn a yellowish orange) be white. I'm not really looking to spend $100-$300 on hids so I was wondering if there was another way to do it

You could get truck lite headlights but they are around $400

Silverstar bulbs will give you a whiter light, and are inexpensive.

Silverstars don't change it that much. Silver on one side and hid on the other, $20 says you can guess which if which.

I think it's piaa extreme that are brighter and "whiter" but I don't think they'll match the light bar.

You're going to have to pony up the money for either truck-lite's or HID's if you want the headlights to match. Halogen bulbs are just full of fail.

If you want to buy replacement lamps look for 5000k to 6500k (Kelvin) color lamps. They are out there, check Ebay.

If you're wanting a *quality* halogen replacement, the PIAA Extreme White Plus are about as close as you can get. He's a pic of what you can expect showing stock and the replacements side by side. What type of light bar you have will depend on how closely it matches.

PIAA | Jeep JK VSK

As Mschneid mentioned, you can find even bluer lights on ebay, but in my experience they don't last long at all and don't put out nearly as much light as a PIAA. HIDs are generally buyer beware due to the housings not being made for HIDs. LEDs like the new KC LED headlights, Truck-Lites and JK Speaker will match most light bars and last for years, which is an advantage in high vibration environments like what you see offroad.

That is a false statement; factory halogen is rated @3200K (kelvin). an easy & low cost upgrade is the Piaa Xtreme White Plus bulb. rated @ 4000K they are almost completely white in color. And they have a stock power useage, but W/higher rated output. ie, stock@ 65/55W (high/low) vs. 85/75W (output)=Piaa. I use them and would highly recommend them!!
