Default Windshield Light Bracket install question

Hey everyone,

I've got the MBRP windshield light brackets and I was wondering if I should put anything between the brackets and the windshield to protect the paint from any wear or scratching from the long term mounting of the brackets. It may not be a big deal but figured it would be easy enough to put in a little prevention now.

Thanks

I forget what it's called but I used a sort of foam plastic liner kind of like what you use in a drawer to keep things from sliding around. I found it in home depot near the kitchen appliances. After a year, so far so good

A thin piece of rubber will do the trick. But its gotta be really thin as to not leave a noticeable gap.

Bolted up solid, they wont be moving around and scratching. I didnt put any type of gasket with my MBRPs. Besides, and IF they did scratch--- heck its a Jeep. Jeeps are suppose to be used and get scratched up...

I used an old bike tube in between the bracket and jeep.

Maybe put a couple strips of double sided tape on the bracket with the backing still on?

I obviously wasn't the only one that thought this lol. Bike tube sounds like an excellent idea! I know it's a jeep but if I ever decided to remove the brackets it would aggravate me if there was a bracket shaped rub spot on each lower windshield corner.

Electrical tape or a thin layer of silicone will do the trick.
