Just remove the 4 screws that secure your tail light lens to acess the wires behind it. Locate the reverse light bulb and then find the white wire with gray stripe.

RELAY:
86: to ground
87: to aftermarket fog lights (white wire)
87A: to center terminal on switch
85: to white wire w/ gray stripe (factory reverse)
30: to battery with inline fuse

is that a 3 position switch? also, would the lights always have "hot power" tied to it with the feed from the battery vs. an ignition switch power source?

i really appreciate everyone's input and patience...

Its a switch with an LED light, so it has three prongs. You can use a constant or switched source. For my reverse lights, I like the constant in case I need to flick em on while camping or something and I dont want to start the engine...

Thats a dual setup. yes the manual switch has a constant power and you can turn them on manually without the vehicle being started. The switch overrides the relay.

If you tie into the reverse light wires according to the diagram, the lights will come on when you put it into reverse with the manual switch turned off.

Curious if anyone could help me out please.

I ran the wires from the lights to behind my tail light. From the relay ran a fused power wire to the battery. Spliced the "switch" wire in to the white wire with a gray stripe. Grounded the black.

Checked the lights, nothing. Not sure where I went wrong. Appreciate any ideas you may have.

Don't realy understand what you did. But I'll try to explain anyway.
1) 12 volt + from battery - to - #30 on relay.
2) #87 on relay - to -lights ( ground lights ).
3) From reverse light - to - either 85 or 86 on the relay. ( doesen't matter witch one ).
4) 85 / 86 on relay ( witch ever one is left )- to - ground.

Is there a part or model number for that relay?
