well...I picked up a universal windshield wiper switch Cole Hersee 75600-04 (with Delay/intermittent feature), and my test demo didn't work quite right. This switch has all the features I want: Delay / Lo / Hi / Park / Washer, but the demo had mixed results. Assuming I wired it up correctly (which might be a big assumption) the Delay did not work, Lo and Hi worked, no Park. Pushing the washer button did activate the washer/wipers simultaneously, but the wipers would not stop (Lo or Hi) - had to remove power for it to stop, and at no time did it 'return to park'.

My guess is a "computer" is likely required/involved with the Park feature to function...and without the computer the motor isn't quite getting the proper signals. Anyone have thoughts about this?

This is how I wired it up -

AFAIK this is the correct 2014 era JK wiper schematic, with the motor circled -

So, ordered the Painless wiper switch 80173, and it works correctly, tho it does not have the provision for Delay, and it still does not Park...neither of which are essential - I just have to turn it off when the wiper arms are in the Park position. I'd really like both Delay (intermittent) wipers, and Park, but again neither are essential.

Posting this up in case anyone else has 'been here and done this', and/or has any inputs for the wiring that might enable either switch to function mo bettah.

Currently wired like this -

while I'm researching the wiper wiring, I found a great rubber grip tape and wrapped the front cage handles - lots better, good and sturdy -

and last couple days I've been turning this...

...into this -

...now time to get acquainted with several weather pack terminals and connect the dash to the harness -

Booyah 😎 - I've run the gauntlet on the wiper motor voodoo and succeeded. Ordered a slightly different part number, 75600-26 (same as the -04 but has connectors at the ends), which conveniently is cheaper by a lot, wired it up, and it works perfectly - all features - Delay, Lo, Hi, Park, Washer, tested on the actual washer bottle I'm using with a little motor. SO - apparently a JK wiper motor is...like the rest of the JK wiring...'complicated', and the solution...at least for me...is to graft in a CJ wiper motor, which when combined with the JK wiper assembly should work perfectly, and old-school cool .

The wiring from the switch to the CJ motor is like this:

Yellow (Lo) --> Greene

White (Hi) --> Red

Blue (Park) --> Black

Red <-- 12v

Black <--> Ground

Brown --> Washer Pump

The delay feature is integrated into the switch itself, IOW...in theory...it'll add 'delay/intermittent' feature to any Lo/Hi motor, plus it has the output wire to trigger a washer pump (which does not 'need' to be connected for the wiper to otherwise function). I'm totally putting one in the Demon

It's 2.25" square, 1.75" deep.

Picked up these noyce aluminum battery terminals from Rugged Rocks, and not to be outdone painted the side of the + block red just 'cuz I thought it would look good...which it does -

Wired up the ignition and start switches - will finish the panel after the rig is fully dialed in and has a few trail runs under its belt...

Note - if anyone wants a set of these order 'em quick 'cuz he's preparing to close his shop.

Chassis harness is done - few more bolt checks etc., a couple final body mods, and the tub is ready to get bolted on for good 👍

... ok - added one more warning light to the gauge panel, this one to monitor the charging system - it's a tiny little circuit gizmo I found from a place called SparkBright in the UK - not sure they're still in business but I got it for the Dakota and never installed it, so I'll put it in the Jeep. It 'monitors' battery voltage and outputs a 12v signal based on the following conditions: Above 15.2v the light will have a fast flash (indicating over-voltage and possible regulator failure), from 15.2 to 13.2v there will be no light (normal system charging), from 13.2v to 12.4v there will be a steady light (which is what I should see when I turn the ignition on but the engine not running, indicating normal battery condition when I turn the ignition on), and under 12.4v there will be a slow flash indicating the alternator is not charging the system. I tested it and sure enough with the battery at 12.65 volts it displays a steady light.

I'd like to find another vendor that offers the same monitor, but the other's I've seen either send signal at/below 11 volts (way too late/not really helpful), or has its own LED that doesn't match mine, and yah I'd like them to match. Even Dakota Digital doesn't make one...

Granted I already have a volt gauge, but as many know when wheeling you're not constantly watching the gauges, and I wanted something to 'alert' me instantly if/when the charging system starts having issues.

here it is - not much to it -

wired direct to the volt gauge -

and now here's the gauge panel, nice and symmetrical -

...and in an attempt to keep my shoes from melting I made the engine bay all 'shiny' too...

...with the chassis and body as assembled and prepped as I could think to make them, it was time to drop the tub on the frame for what I hope to be the last time, hopefully for a long time. Everything clears and fits real good. Time for the final push!

...gas tank filler tube and vent are connected -

used Gasoila E-seal to seal the filler neck vent fitting - the 5/8 hose to the tank -

...steering column is assembled and installed, steering wheel is on, and dash is installed - all systems 'go' -

Fuel pump module trap door hole welded/sanded smooth/painted, transmission cable and Atlas rods connected, engine wiring harness is mapped out, and 6 fresh quarts of Lucas 10w40 Classic are in the oil pan. Another few hours and I'll have the engine bay wiring connected.

sure is nice to be able to get this stuff off-the-shelf at my local Orielly's - I know with a roller cam I don't technically 'need' it, but I figured the ZDDP won't hurt for the first fire-up with the new lifters and pushrods -

...meanwhile my 7-yr-old worked the impact gun to swap the steel wheels off the 4500 and slam on the aluminums -

Most of the engine bay wiring is complete, and the big battery cables and alternator wiring are next. Meanwhile...it can get pretty dusty where we live and wheel, and with that in mind I pulled the d-side valve cover and had a short tube welded to it for this bigger/better/cleanable K&N valve cover breather (my favorite aspect of it is that it isn't chrome), and I'm looking for a pre-filter for it too.
