Ok, so my build...
I have a 2012 Gecko JKUR, 3.6L, W5A580 5 speed Automatic, had the 3.6 head problem, left head replaced at 30k. 6" Teraflex longarm lift on 37" Goodyear MT/R's AEV Pintler's Warn front stubby bumper Smittybilt XRC10 Bestop rear bumber with tire carrier Bushwacker flat flares Cobra CB Stock D44's, rear has Alloy USA shafts, front is gusseted, stock lockers 1.75" Spidertrax wheel spacers KC headlights 24" lightbar on cowell, pair of 6" lightbars on winch roller plate Warrior steel taillights Rugged Ridge snorkel Neoprene seat covers Offroad Evolution Manual Swaybar disconnect system Exhaust system, muffler and resonator removed with custom y-pipe and exhaust loop removed K&N air intake Super Bee sticker (hehe, adds 10 hp) Just hit 50k miles, and have decided that going ahead and doing the Bruiser Diesel conversion (heavily upgrading the Jeep) is better than selling the Jeep and buying a new one. Especially with everything that i've done to it. I also love gecko, and they don't make the color anymore. I am a diesel fan, and have always loved the idea of a diesel Jeep Wrangler. I have been planning my diesel build for the last 5 months with bruiser, and I am going with the 3.8L ISF I4 Cummins. 228 HP/485 LBS/FT of torque, and 30+ highway MPG on 37s! I am taking my Jeep down to Bruiser Conversions in Clearwater, FL in 3 weeks. The conversion will take about 2 weeks. I was told to do a write up on the forum by some Facebook friends so I am. I will post updates and a video at the end of the conversion and many pictures. Cheers, MacAttachment 591887Attachment 591888 |
Hey neighbor, I love the diesel swap...Sub'd.
|
that's the conversion I want to do when I pay mine off, curious to hear how smooth it goes for you and what the final $$ is as I have seen some range of costs. |

Here is the motor. The actual order of motors from Cummins including my engine was shipped about a week ago. The order should arrive at Bruiser in about 2 weeks. |
Awesome! Subscribed!:yup:
|
Very interested. There isn't a lot of info from people who have actually done this and wrote it all up. Subscribed

Great sounding build. Did you buy a crate engine from Cummins for this? Also, do you have a weight of that engine?
|
Sounds like an awsome build can't wait to see the results! What trans are you going to be running behind that diesel?
|
Yeah, it is a crate engine from Cummins. The stock W5A580 automatic will be used, it is more than capable to handle the torque.
