Well I got the jeep today, had to rotate the tires so I figured I would do the tone rings. I'm using stock JK front speed sensors and the same Dynatrac tone rings I used on the rear.
Tore it down and noticed the hub is stepped the tone ring will just fall on to the hub.

then a little test fitting

I machined the hub and put a small bevel on the tone ring clears great about 1/8 inch

Made a tab for the sensor

testing the airgap

I had to clearance the senor for the brake rotor

safety wired the sensor wire out of the way

I had to close up the air gap pretty tight to make them read the same as the rear but i have no lights and the abs works great.

Hey man sick build. I'm doing a 14 bolt at the moment then will move to the front kingpin. I was wondering what driveshaft you used for the rear? That's a major money saver there if you can avoid spending $500ish on a custom shaft. I'm still collecting parts before i get going on it but I'm going to start it in the next couple months. Also, did you cut anywhere on the mounding flanges to get the tone ring sensor working? What are the differences between using the Artec vs Dynatrac tone rings? I'm trying to be as frugal as possible and you seem like a great guy to consult for swap tips/questions.

Thanks as for driveshaft the rear is out of a 3/4 ton it has 1350 ujoints I shortened it.you will need a yoke from a older 14 bolt too the disk brake 14s use a 1410 u joint. The speed sensor fit through a hole I cut in the backing plate not the flange. when I did the tone rings dynatrac was the only tone rings available as for difference I think it's price Artec is cheaper. If you have any more questions ask away

Does the 90' kingpin front use the same 8x6.5 lug pattern as the 14 bolt? Everything is stock up there besides gears/steering?

Lug pattern didn't change until 99. The suspension links are the only stock parts on the front

Yeah I meant stock for the axle, as in it was factory Ford parts? or did you put any aftermarket parts on the ford axle to replace what it came from ford with. People usually spend a lot more for the front than you quoted. Im trying to figure out how cheap I can get a front hp kingpin 60 done and under my jeep for all said and done
