Default Transmission issues

Hey Guys. My cousin have a 2010 Wrangler with an auto transmission. I was driving the other day and it stopped moving. The linkage was still attached, it just won’t move. It’s stuck in neutral now, and grinds a little when I put it in neutral. I dropped the pan and the oil looks fine but there are some metal shavings in the pan. Nothing very big. Think it’s the TCM or is the transmission toast?

Thanks for any help!

Some metal shavings is usually normal, big chunks not normal. Fluid OK, does it smell burnt? might have to compare to new fluid for smells. TCM is a possible - not sure if this would set a code; if you have code reader connect up and check for codes. Last suggestion would be speak with or get to a local transmission shop.
