The best thing for changing a wheel:

Small, not heavy, safe, and easy to carry.

Quadratec sells a base for the stock sissor Jack that will give you an additional 3" of height. I am thinking about getting one for emergency tire changes. Anyone have experience with this product?

Also, what about working at home? Anyone know of a floor Jack that can handle the additional height?

Recommended Jack stands for lifted jeep?

Thanks.
I have that Jack base and it works great. I use my factory jack all the time to rotate my tires. I dont know why everyone hates it so much, it is small, light, and extends quickly. I have no issues with it. The amount of lift doesnt mean anything when you are using the factory jack as it doesnt raise the axle form the ground. Tires/rims do that.

I would use my floor jack but i blew the seals out on it and frankly, I dunno how to fix the damn thing.

The only thing I don't like about the scissor jack is twisting it with the horrible rod, other then that I don't mind it for changing tires. Plus there is a slit on top that hold the rear lower shock mount just right so you don't have to screw things very far to get enough movement.

I have 33" tires and the jack works just fine without the base. I just like the base because i dont have to extend the jack as far. And it doubles as a wheel chock.

I would never use a hi-lift to change tires, they are WAY to unstable for my liking.

Agreed. It's primarily for recovery and use in emergency situations.

The best tool to have off roaring to change a tire or get u out is a wheeling budy. One of you will be carrying soming. Also ya stock bumpers are metal just have a plastic outside. Iv used the high lift on them. It will work. Just be careful and you don't want to Cary a floor jack. First. How will u use it in mud or on rocks. Get a high lift.

Be very careful when going down, keep your head out of the way. That handle will smack you silly.
