Noob question about tire pressures and beadlocks
I have a two part question.
1) With my stock wheels/tires (Sahara unlimited with 18" wheels)--how low can I safely lower my tire pressures? I know this answer may depend on conditions, so lets say: driving 10 mph on snow? driving 2 mph over rocks? driving 15 mph on a rough dirt road? 2) What is the reason for having beadlocks? I'm guessing, after lurking here for some time, that it allows you to run lower tire pressure with less risk of burping air out, and of complete bead separation from the rim. Thanks--Scott |
1. no less than 10psi any terrain or situation
2. you are correct,also rockcrawling more protection for tire rim assy. |

Yes it is. :rotflmao2::rotflmao2::rotflmao2::rotflmao2::rotfl mao2: |
It is a HUGE fart when a bead is lost. Rhonda my GF with RubyJeep likes 10 psi and sometimes she looses beads.

I would say stick with about 15 psi on the rocks if you are stock.

How serious do you have to get, terrain-wise, before you really need beadlocks?
Also, I think I read elsewhere in a thread that they are not street-legal....is this true? |
yeah most of the time bead locks are a big no no for the streets/highway
