Default Rotopax bracket mounting question

Thoughts or experiences to share on mounting this Rotopax bracket to the top of the quarter panel, placing the bracket upright, between the q panel and the hard top?

Presume you are suggesting the rotopax would hang on the inside. How would you secure the bracket in place, by using the same bolt that holds the hard top down? The website shows that bracket to be just under 3/16" right (.172")? I'd think that would be a little thick to try to sandwich in there without your hard top sitting a little wonky.

I actually was hoping to mount it with the bracket outside and pointing up, just forward of the fuel port. Yet as I look at it, it appears that would require some modification to the top which I'm not willing to do. And yes, I agree the thickness would present a challenge too. For now, I will keep the Rotopax mount on my roof rack. Thanks!

I'm seriously thinking about mounting one on my forward quarter panel. There's a company that makes a bracket for that.

I like the front fender mounts from retrofitoffroad.com.

Im going to put a Rotopax mount on my rear rack, not to carry a can just to place to siphon gas into the tank.
