Default Stock rockslide

Are the stock rockslides on a Rubicon worth keeping. Will they take abuse?

All depends on the type of wheeling you do. If you play in serious rocks don't expect them to withstand an extreme hit because they bolt to the pinch seam which is a weak link. There are better out there but for the most part they offer decent protection.

Mine didn't stand up to the Rubicon, and now I have tub damage. Ditch them if you wanna wheel even a little hard.

Mine pushed into the body. Wasnt a lot of damage but I replaced them regardless as they didnt hold up to what I want and intend for the Jeep to be able to handle.

Mine handled some pretty good usage. As someone on here once mentioned, they're rock sliders, not rock slammers. In my 2012 there were 2 bolts each that went up into the frame rail. I have since replaced.

Im thinking yours being a two door might have helped (less weight). I "Slid" up on a rock with mine and they pushed into the body hard enough I couldnt open the doors until I was off the obstacle.

I could definitely see that making a big difference. Less weight and probably a sturdier slider having mount points more condensed

Avoid any that only bolt to body mounts. They will flex (as body mounts do) into your rocker panel and cause dents.
