Vehicle shut off going through a big puddle.
I have another question. I was driving through a puddle of water and the splash caused the engine to shut off. I checked the air filter box to make sure no water was in there. I let it sit for about five minutes and it started up with no problems.
Is there something else I should check besides the air filter, or did I even need to check the air filter? Also what most likely caused the engine to cut off?

The puddle wasn't even a foot deep. I went through three times before with no problems. The last time I went through it a little faster (maybe 1 or 2 miles faster)but the splash was bigger. As soon as the splash hit the engine it died. The puddle was not deeper than eight inches.

Electrical short maybe. Maybe water got forced into the fuse block. There was a TBS / recall thing while ago about random shutoffs at certain RPM ranges and changing speeds. Other than those I got nothing.
