Default What size lift for 4-door JK with 35 inch tires?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and have quite a few questions. I'm a fairly new JK owner with a '15 Hard Rock Ruby. My stock tires are now worn down to the point of needing new tires. I have decided on Nitto Trail Grapplers 35x12.5x18. what size lift generally looks good with this size of tire? I was thinking a 3.5 but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Generally, a 2.5" lift will be more then enough to clear 35's, At 3.5" you could run 37" tires.

The problem with your question is not only is it subjective about “looks” but every jeep is going to see a difference in actual lift due to brand of lift and weight of mods each jeep has. You could put the same lift on 2 jeeps, but if one has front/rear bumpers, sliders, full skids, a winch….and whatever else, that lift is going to have a different look than on a completely stock jeep. It’s not really a question anyone can answer as we don’t really know what your future plans are, or how you use your jeep. Both a 2.5” and 3.5” will look fine with your 35s, but a 3.5” would leave you room to move to 37s if you wanted. I’d urge you to read the stickies at the top of the modified page thoroughly, and to buy quality components the first time round.

So you only care about looks? Not ride quality? No use or budget given either. There are also thousands of photos of jeeps on 35's with different lifts on these forums. Take some time and do a little searching around before asking a vague question that will give you an incomplete answer.

short answer is a 2.5" lift works for 35s. If you get a 3.5" lift, you'll need or likely need extended driveshafts, so $500+ extra cost.

Damn....so my 2.0in Mopar lift isn't going to work with my 35s?

I might have to put the word out to these other Jeepers that installed the 2in Mopar lift with 35's.

As stated above, if it's looks and street-ability you're going for you don't need shit for lift to run a 34" tire like that.

I'd spring for a good leveling kit for under or around 2", chopped fenders, proper back spacing, and correct bumpstop and shock length( or pretty close ).

That would be a very good overall setup for under 3k.

ID:	662256I am running 35's with a 1.75" puck lift in front just to level it out, metal cloak front fenders and just trimmed the rear stock fenders and pulled out the inner liner. Wheels great with very little rubbing.

2.5 will clear it all depends on you i have 37's and im running my lift at 3 in but with my coilovers i can raise all the way to a 5 in. I like to keep it as low as possible its better on the trail and safer.
