Sorry Colin had to. I have used anything over 6" in diameter hooked with a tree saver as close to the ground a possible....you'd be surprised how difficult it is to pull a little tree out from right near where the stump meets the ground!

im sure, that even the small trees in the area where you live are stronger than the poles, mailboxes, and basketball hoops..
just hook it up to a neighbor you dont likes above ground pool sidewall... Itll straightne out your winch cable and give it a good cleaning.
