It is hard to beat a Warn, they are solid. But you definitely pay for that quality.

I’m a Superwinch fan but I’m a little biased because they’re in my backyard. They’ve always taken care of me and they build quality winches. I am a believer in “you get what you pay for”. You need to count on your winch. It’s a piece of equipment you can’t afford to have fail. I buy some power tools from Harbor Freight but only the ones I need to use once. If I get more out of it it’s a bonus! Good luck with your purchase.

I would buy a used warn on craigslist. Deals are out there, you just gotta be patient.

For the difference in price I just could never justify a Warn when other winches receive 5 star reviews for a lot less. Big Smittybilt fan, my 3rd one on my current jeep. they have never failed me.

You don't hear much about Ramsey, even though most every tow truck has a Ramsey on it, I have a 25 year old rep 9000 that has been on three trucks, a k5 Blazer and now on a 48 cj2a, I'm thinking about putting it on my 18 jk 2 door.
it has done well for me, I haven't heard anything good or bad about them either way

I would say that Ramsey cost the same and in some case more than Warn

Could be, I haven't priced them lately, they used to be cheaper, but it's been years since I bought one

Hi, you can also look at Hammer Winch if you think about the hydraulic winch.

I disagree. The false sense of security you get from having a winch makes you do things that end you up in situations that require one. Then when it fails, your in a worse situation.

I've slept in my bed rather than on the trail a handful of times because of my Warn. I wont run anything else.

just my .02
