Winch/synthetic line
Hey everyone,
I am about to purchase a warn 9.5 ti winch. It comes with 5/16 winch line. I want to buy Viking synthetic for it. Do I have to buy 5/16 or can I buy the stronger 3/8 synthetic line for it?
Thanks so much,
Sean

You have a 2-door so you are fine to run the smaller diameter line. I ran it for 4 years on my TJ. I did change over to the larger diameter line when I upgraded my winch on that jeep and also run it on my current JKU.

Remember that the less raps on the drum equal more pulling power. If you go with 3/8 line and 100 ft you can always get an extension if you need a longer line. That's what I did. I went from 100' of 5/16" cable to 85' of 3/8" line. Then I will just get an extension in case I need more line.
