This thread is for 305/55/20's, anyone who has them or wants them.
Seeing that we all spend a lot of time figuring out what tire is going to suit them, i hope this helps.

The reason for the choice - a firm control on the highway but still big enough to take on the trails and a wicked stance.

And in my case without a lift!

So, with that being said, let's begin.

2009 unlimited X
No lift
Trimmed the air damn - 5" on each side so I do not rub in reverse
305/55/20 nitto trails (true measurements = 33.4x12.6 even though the tire side wall says 33x13)
XD Cranks - 20x9 with a 4.5" Backspacing
No TMPS
Superchips - 87 tune, TMPS off, 33.25" tire calibration

Thanks, that is why i threw in the yup 20's.
I knew it was coming!

But seriously, if my wife jumped in a jeep running on the 50/50 rule in other words 20's with 40's, she would roll it.

Haha. Yes there are alot of haters out there :harhar: to all of them
I think it is funny with the whole 2x tire thing because my 2011 came with 17's and 32's. Thats not 2x's and thats from the factory :yup:

Did you get the super chip in Jeff? How you like it?

Why not just remove the air dam altogether?

Thought about it, but i read a lot about it causing it the hood to bounce.

I kind of think it is good for me though, i am in buffalo,ny and with all of the salt and or ice n snow that we deal with the air dam deflects some of that stuff from building up and rotting my jeep.

Nothing to back my thought on this but i can say that salt is nasty here and it eats up you ride so anyprotection is fine by me.

Oh don't get me wrong. I don't think the factory of many cars/trucks know what they are doing. I just don't think its something to live or die by. Not all of us want to beat up our jeeps and make them nothing but off road rock crawlers. To look good on the road big rims are a must and to get to 40's is so much work and $$$. I don't doubt the famous and old experienced offroaders input, just don't need the negativity that alot of them bring to the table :naw:
