Default Another New Antenna Mod

With the addition of the KC lights, I wanted to eliminate the possibility of the antenna hitting the lights. Instead of bending the antenna or using a shorter antenna, I opted to hide the antenna all together. The installation took about 30 minutes and reception is atleast as good as with the original antenna. No more worries about the antenna hitting the KC light.

Parts needed for the install are: Metra 44-UA20 amplified antenna, Metra 40-EU30 antenna adapter cable kit, and an additional trail rated badge to cover the factory antenna hole.

Let me know what you think.

Slick idea. I thought about doing the same thing antenna-wise but hadnt thought about the badge to cover the hole.

A lot of us will be following in your footsteps!

You sir are a genius. You should have got a patent on this because I feel a lot of people (including me) will be doing this very soon.

Very cool. I'm gonna do this. I've been annoyed that only 1 side has the Trail Rated badge too. This is good.

Thanks alot for compliments everyone! This is a project that I have been contemplating for a while. My initial idea was to use an adapter/splitter such as the Match-Maker (shown below) to allow me to use a CB antenna mounted to the license plate as radio antenna as well. This may be a good choice for those who already have a CB antenna mounted.

wayland1985,

I tapped into the blue wire on the left cigarette lighter.
