A re-gear is not a must in my book. I have driven from CA to MO and back twice and I still don't see a need for it. Look, these things will never be Ferraris but it can and does get out of its own way just fine. And lets face it, even that Bugatti owner down the street thinks he wants MORE power..its a never ending quest.
The only time I have thought about more power is passing cars on 2 lane highways, and thats not the Jeeps fault, its mine for not planning the pass correctly. There are a million posts on this site about this subject, but I feel 35s and auto Rubis are fine.

To the OP...no regret and I wish I would have bought one sooner

I'd say it depends on what type of driving your're doing daily, assuming it's a DD. For me personally, if I had to drive in stop and go traffic, I'd have to go auto. BUT it'd have to be 2011+ cause the 2010 autos look like crap IMHO. Otherwise for me it'd be manual all the way.

First couple JKs I test drove before I got my 6 speed were autos. I was very disappointed with the amount of power the X and the Rubicon models had. Its like I was driving a 4 cylinder Jeep.

Once I got into my 6 speed it was like I gained 2 cylinders. Although no one else wants to drive it in my family cause they hate the stick, I still love it. You have to be a stick enthusiast to have it as a daily driver. You have to love it and want it, no questions asked. It really never annoys me in rush hour either and I even ran 35s on 3.21 gears for a while. If it does annoy you even a little, I vote you get the auto.

I regretted it at first just Bc I love manuals and having a 6 speed. But once I heard about the rubicrawler only for the autos I'm so glad I picked the auto. I plan on getting the rubicrawler in the near future. Just some food for thought

I have the auto and its nice. I wish I had a 4.0 HO our a Hemi, but the 3.8 works. For Off Road Rock Crawling, I prefer the Auto. That's the reason I went Auto.

Next I can't decide between white or cherry red!
Funny, my dealer doesn't carry any manual transmission Wranglers.

Mine isn't a Rubicon but I like the manual. When the traffic is stop and go on the highway I like that I can put it in 1st or 2nd (depending on speed) and crawl along without riding the brake.

Another vote for the auto. I have had a manual before and sure I enjoyed the little more power and control but maybe with age (and that the wife can't drive a manual) I enjoy the auto. As for regearing, I have a Rubi with 35's and would not say you have to regear. It is my DD and weekend offroader. I will not say gears are not on my list of upgrades but they are not at the top.

I had no choice but to get an auto. First, there were barely any Rubi's available in my area when i bought it and second, the auto is the only way I'd be able to get my ass home after having some drinks at dinner......my designated driver (wife) does not know how to drive a manual transmission!!

So keep the "not everyone knows how to drive a manual" in the back of your mind. if you ever forsee the need to be a passenger in your own Jeep.......you will be thankful that you have an auto!

And as far as regearing, I drove with my stock 4.10's for a year beofre regearing. I decided to do it because money was right and I am blown away at the difference. Much better, however, I was fine with it before I regeared...although I would never want to go back!

I drove both several times. I bought the manual because of the power. I take 4th gear to redline, 85 mph. When I pass on the two lane, there is no speed limit. The stick lets the driver control the power, such as it is.

I do not drive in town much. If you do a lot of stop and go, I might consider an auto.

Good luck on your decision, you will love your jeep.
