Default Brainstorming session

Okay fabricators - here the quandry.

My dad has offered me 80 feet of 2" square tubing in 20 foot joints. My brother in law is a professional welder and just replaced his YJ with a TJ. I'm thinking that he does the welding and I do the grunt work, grinding, painting.

What is the best project for 2" square tube? I'm thinking rock rails and/or tire rack for both jeeps.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

That's another possibility. I happen to have an axle set up from an old boat trailer that carried a 1500 lb fiberglass boat. The axle is mounted to leaf springs in turn mounted to 2x4 angle iron that was bolted to boat trailer structure so as to adjust the center of gravity. I already changed it to spring-over so I have about 11 inches of clearance at the axle with stock trailer tires (13 inch wheels). The boat trailer structure flexes more than I am comfortable with so if I do this a new deck is in order.

That axle also has a track very close to the JKU track so it could work out as a very good trail trailer.
