Creepy Axis of Evil Hi-Lift mount. FULL BUILD PIX
I don't post in here a lot but when I have somehting pertinent to share I like to keep all y'all apprised. I have a 60" Hi-Lift and was perplexed by the question of where to put it. I see a lot on the hood and while that looks good it interferes with the sprayers. So no.
Now back in the day when I had a 48" jack I used to put it on the swingout vertically. But the extra 12" makes for a pain going into my shop. So no.
I know some guys who have the jacks across the stingers in the front, but to me it looks like Hitler's moustache. So no.
I went to see my friend Jan who is the proprietor of a plasma table and the holder of a gift for looking at a 2D situation and being able to transfer it into a 3D solution. What follows is the best mount I have ever seen for a highlift on a swing out.
This one is welded but with an additional plate in the back could be made into a straight bolt on affair that anyone who can drill holes could mount up.
The bumper and swingout are by Warn. The tire is a 315 75 16 BFG KM2 on a 16x8 ProComp steelie. The jack is held on by 1/2" bolts and 3/4" nuts. The swing out swings out easily to allow access to the Tufy drawer in the rear.
Comments welcome.
Where we wanted it to sit:

The master at work
Right fancy in colour:

Getting ready for the BFH:
The scraps:

Creepy sticker:

Welding:
Brackets. The jack sits on the front tabs.
A peace symbol. Imagine that.
Mocked up:
Tire is clear:

Yes it is so very true.
I was also wanting to have the jack out of the inside because there is no way that I was happy with that it was not in the way.
