Default Dog Restraint Windows inspired by NASCAR

So I have been looking for an effective way to keep the animals in the back of my jeep without losing any cargo space. Then it hit me.

Step 1: Take off your soft-top windows and tape them off with painters tape.

Step 2: Tediously cut out every single square with a straight edge and a razor.

Step 3: Trim up any loose edges before removing tape.

Step 4: Repeat for other two windows and attach to the Jeep.

If that doesn't deserve a "built not bought" bumper sticker I don't know what does...

No?

I gotta say, I'm sorta digging it.

I have the tinted windows and the clear factory windows... this would be great in the summer time with both my GSD's. (on the factory clears that is)

Great idea! I gave away an old set of windows once they were too scratched... I shoulda kept them and done this.

They were spare windows I picked up. I was originally going to sew in some 2" nylon web-strapping but the sewing machine required to push through two layers of such thick material is not cheap.

Thanks for the comments.

How did you avoid over cutting and subsequent tearing?

To avoid over cutting I changed blades after each window to keep them sharp and cut very slow. Surprisingly they barely flap in the wind doing 70 MPH with windows up/down. The material is very resilient and pliable so I don't foresee tearing being an issue unless they start to dryrot, in which case I'll try my strapping idea.
