Hard top and MBRP rack to soft top and Gobi swap
My jeep is used mostly for camping/exploring. I started with a hard top and went with the MBRP rack for my roof top tent/awning setup. I loved it. It took some modifications to get it to work right with everything because of the 2" bars on the MBRP rack, but when everything was set up, it was solid. Problem was It was a lot of work to get everything bolted on right (tent and awning), and there was no extra roof storage. Anyway, after I was discharged (honorably) from the military I moved home to Florida and immediately wanted a soft top. So I sold my hard top with the MBRP to a forum member with a trade of his soft top, and bought the Gobi Stealth which is AMAZING. So I just thought it would be cool to put up pictures of the same jeep with two totally different roof and rack setups. I havent seen that before.

Sweet looking set-up--both ways! I gave a lot of consideration to those same options: Gobi or MBRP. I decided on the MBRP because it doesn't interfere with safari top use, and most specifically use of the Trail Cover when I'm running it and doors off (much of the summer). Since I park outside, that was critical. Also, having the roof lights on with the MBRP meant they were removed when the softtop was installed--since I don't really care for the look of overhead lights (useful sometimes, but way too redneck for this boy originally from California), that suited me fine. And, after fussing with the softtop on extended camping trips, I decided that the hardtop was more secure (such as when I backpack off somewhere for a day or three), and easier to work around (you will cuss that rear zipper window when trying to access your gear in the back end). Finally, I rarely run with the hardtop--in fact, pretty much just on trips. So that means that rack which is useless otherwise, makes wind noise (not really a big issue with me) and decreased gas mileage (a little), is stored in the garage not doing any of those things most of the time. Anyway, the MBRP is setting in my garage; hoping to install next week.

Yea I liked the mbrp, I jist want wanted a more "full time" rack. I wanted to be able to camp with the soft top, and I wanted more room. I also installed my awning brackets on the Gobi yesterday. Its going to be way easier now.
