Default Has anyone made a receiver hitch mounted tire carrier?

I was thinking today of making a tire carrier but something removeable. I thought of maybe doing something that comes out of the receiver hitch and then up a few inches. Then make a piece that extends to the right side of the jeep and then swings just like the ones you buy. I realize that its hard to visualize w/ my instructions. It basically would be just like everyone elses but comes out of the receiver hitch. Anyone do this?

Look up tiregate and look at the hitch gate.

ive seen one as you described on an XJ. I looked into making one that would pivot down. I thought it would be much simpler. You can always get a non-hinged hitch mount tire carrier and just throw it in when you go to the trail.
