Default I Was Just Rear Ended!

We had a few inches of new snow here last night, and while I was waiting at a stop sign this afternoon, a car coming up behind me was not able to stop, and slid into me. From the sound and the way the impact felt, I was expecting to get out and find at least moderate damage to the back of my Jeep, instead the only damage I could find was a very small paint chip on the red paint of the retaining pin on my D ring, but look at the damage the car sustained!

That's a stout little D Ring judging from the damage to the other guy. Hope everyone's fine.

My rear bumper is stock. My spare tire rode over the hood of the car (you can see the skid marks in the photograph) and pushed his front end down and into the D ring on my receiver hitch.

Everyone was fine. I really felt sorry for the elderly couple in the car. They were traveling through from Arkansas, and seemed to be pretty shaken up.
