Ipf white headlight upgrade
Well I upgraded my headlights last week. My pics don't do the new lights justice. I ordered the white Ipf lights from Stan at Northridge. Man these lights are great!!! They're the same "color" as the stock lights but man the way the light is reflected onto the road is a major improvement over the stock lights. I would have to say that next to my Gobi rack these lights are the best upgrade to my rig so far! The sun is setting early up here and it's easy to tell the difference between stock and Ipf. The low beam is better than before when I used low beam and fogs together. The high beam actually lights up the road ahead if me now. I attached some pics of the install process but my comparison shots could be better. But take my word guys this is a great / inexpensive upgrade that is worth every penny!
Hmmm... Well I uploaded the pics from my iPhone in a specific order but it appears that they just uploaded the way they wanted (headscratch?). Anyway I'm sure you can figure it out.
What's the problem with them? I know the drivers side pigtail didn't want to clip in all the way but I remedied that with electrical tape. It did clip in but there was a bit of play in it that I didn't like.

I've got the IPF lights and they are great. I would definitely recommend against the blue bulbs, which was all that was offered when I bought mine. I didn't like the blue bulbs (when turned off), so never installed them. Instead I went to AutoZone and picked up a pair of the cheapest Sylvania halogen bulbs. Supposedly these bulbs only light up about one-half to two-thirds of the road that the more expensive bulbs do (just look at the charts and pictures that Sylvania puts on the back of the packaging). However, on the way to Disney a couple months ago in a JK caravan I pulled up beside Interceptor_1972, who is running the IPFs with the blue bulbs. While it was obvious that the cheap bulbs I have are more yellow (an exact match for the stock fogs, BTW), it was also obvious that more was being illuminated on low beams by my headlights than by his. I don't know if it was eye sensitivity to the color, or just a brighter bulb, but we both agreed that my $20 bulbs did better than his $80 bulbs. Personally, I wish that Northridge would just sell the replacement headlamp assemblies without bulbs, and let us buy the bulbs that suit our needs.
