Default Lowes trailer turned into Overland trailer

I've been in the process of converting my 400.00 Lowes trailer into an offroad\overland trailer...this is the progress so far.
Added a solid top to it. Going to add an RTT when funds are available.
Re-did the axle. This is a custom 2K axle cut to the length I needed to fit stock JK wheels and tires and eventually offroad tires. Got rid of the slipper spring and added a double eyelet spring.
Next will be cutting out all the expanded metal and skinning it so it's solid sides and bottom.
at some point I'd like to change out the hitch to a offroad hitch or pintle hook.
Once the RTT is on i'll add battery and maybe a small solar panel and other accessories.
Cost so far
400.00 for the trailer
200.00 for axle and springs
about 50.00 for the top
70.00 for tires and wheels

Default Progress....

Made some progress on the budget overland trailer build over the last few weeks. Finally got the expanded metal off and trailer skinned with sheet metal. Welded the fenders on, re-wired the trailer with LED lights, painted exterior with spray on bed liner and sprayed interior with gloss paint. I also made a battery tray and converted the 1 7\8th ball coupler to 2in coupler , added 2 rotopax mounts to the side. I also reinforced the trailer underneath. Road tested it the other day and it tows and tracks great.
Cost to date:
400.00 for the trailer
200.00 for axle and springs
about 50.00 for the top
70.00 for tires and wheels
80.00 for the metal to skin\ reinforce
40.00 stabilizers
500.00 for Tepui RTT
60.00 for Rotopax mounts
100.00 solar panel and controller
100.00 for 5on4.5 to 5on5 adapters
and maybe 50.00 for misc nuts\ bolts and stuff.
Total 1650.00

Looks good. Is that a Baja series Tempui? Did you pick that up used or just find a great deal on price? Did you consider extending the sides up a bit taller to increase your storage capacity, or was that just not worth the trouble/costs?

The RTT is a Kukenam sky that i got off a very good friend that was never used.
The trailer came with 16in sides, i wish i had a few more inches but at that point if i was going to do that i might as well just built it from scratch(build 2 will be from scratch...lol)

How did the axle attach? Do you have part numbers for axle, springs, and wheel adapter?

You have to cut the axle tube to length then weld on the new axle hangers.
With the Lowes trailer i reused the existing front hangers and welded on new rear ones. This actually pushed the wheel and axle back about 2in which was great so...
