Default Mojave Road Flex

Just a little flex along a rutted portion of the historic Mojave Road in eastern California.

There's no rubbing on the fenders anymore after the 1" bodylift. However in the picture above the front passenger tire is actually rubbing against the LoD bumper a little. It only does it if the wheels are turned the way they are. It was even worse with the factory bumper. If I had a stubby bumper it probably would not rub at all.

I should have asked before but how’s the OEM ride? Is it firmer or softer than stock off-road? Also, how about on road body roll and ride?

The Old Man Emu lift rides great! It still holds firm yet absorbs a lot of bumps from rocks or cracks in the road.

Looking a the pictures in you galley it looks like you started out with the old yellow OME shocks and upgraded to the long travel shocks. Did you only swap out the shocks or did you add extended bump stops at the same time?

Just curious as I am close to pulling the trigger on the Northridge OME LT kit but want to run 35s. If you’re rubbing with 34s I am not so sure this Northridge kit will work with 35s. However, if you are running without extended bump stops that would absolutely explain the rubbing on the fenders before you added the body lift.

Thanks!

When I had the Yellow OME shocks before the body lift, it would only rub on the front fender flares during full flex and more so when the wheels were turned. I only had added 2" bumpstop extensions in the rear at that time. I then added the 1" bodylift which eliminated any rubbing with the exception of the front bumper when it's at full turn. When I upgraded to LT shocks I added 2" bumpstop extensions in the front. The bumpstops in the front were more for preventing the new LT shocks from over compressing rather than preventing any rubbing. The bodylift seemed to have remedied any rubbing. All the LT shocks are doing is allowing the axle to droop further when articulation is needed. I'd say that if you want 35's (regardless of which brand of lift) you should probably get at least a 1" bodylift. That's unless you are going with a 4" lift or above.
