Motor swap suggestions and questions.
So i was wheellin and hit a hole that was just a little deeper than i thought and i was going just a little bit too fast. So, i guess it sucked in water and locked up while in the water. Wouldnt start but could hear the starter clicking. Yanked it out and oil was leaking everywhere. I didnt look at it too hard befor i towed it to my work, but it looks like there was a hole the size of a baseball in the block on the passenger side closest to the firewall. So, my question is, what swaps have been done? Has anyone swapped anything besides a hemi?

Check out Burnsville Offroad. I think they have done 4.7liter, 3.0liter diesel, as well as 5.7, 6.1, and 6.4liter Hemi's. They also sell OEM 3.8liter engines at decent prices. I think they sell them on ebay now also.

My $.02. I must say first, I am a huge Jeep and Dodge fan. Having said this, I would suggest looking at the Chevy Vortec 6.0 w/ 700 R4 tranny. There are a zillion of these available, used, for good prices. They regularly get over 300K miles and still run well
I had an 05 QC Powerwagon. Traded for my JK. I then bought a used 01 2wd 3/4T Chevy for a tow vehicle. Chevy has 3.73 gears vs PW 4.56. Guess what? the 300 HP Chevy pulls my 7500lb travel trailer, with more engine umph, than my PW did. Seat of the pants says the Chevy is delivering more torque at lower RPM
