Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.

Default My shot at a rear cargo storage box

I absolutly hated the storage space my JK had, it was way too small. It really was just a waste of space. So I decided to change that, I had seen some other JKers do the same, and even some aftermarket products at various websites. I just could not bear to spend that kind of money on something I could do myself. I wanted to do something different and a bit more custom.

Check it out.

I truely believe in the "I didn't buy it, I built it!" I just wish I had more time to do it.

This is the beginning. Building the box.

Mocking it all up and prep work.

Cutting out the old.....NO TURNING BACK NOW.

SURE LOOKS BIGGER THEN I THOUGHT.

It's in and painted.

Liking the results.

I love it, and so does the wife.
storage bin / BEER COOLER.
now I can keep a ton more off-road gear, and not have the wife complain about getting the gear out so she can take HER JEEP to the market.

Looks great! Can you post a picture of the box you made and how it looks on the tub without the carpet? How did you attach the box? Looks like you are still using the carpet cover? Measurements?

Sorry to be so full of questions, I have just been thinking about doing this kind of thing, and since I got a welder for Christmas - now I can. And yours looks like the best I have seen so far.

I just moved into a JK last week and haven't had a chance to really get acquainted with underside yet. Did you have any muffler location issues when you did the larger box?
That is an awesome box and must add a ton of storage!
