Default GPS Install

Installed a Garmin nuvi tonight and decided to put it down low because my radar detector is in the window and I really wont need the GPS much and when I do I can still see it really good and it gives me turn by turn directions. I routed all wires under the dash for the detector and the GPS and installed a 3 in 1 auxiliary power outlet right under the stock infinity amplifier with 3m tape inside the lower dash panel and I modified the sticky ring so that it would fit in the opening in the console in front of the gear shift. I'm very happy with the outcome of the appearance.

BTW I changed to on screen vehicle to a jeep and added a customized Jeep start up screen so now each time I start the jeep it automatically comes on and shows the screen.

Cool... do you happen to have the Jeep logo you used for the start-up screen? I'd like to use that too.

That is absolutely awesome. Great location. Out of sight, out of mind (for crooks).

Thanks, I racked my brain trying to figure out where to mount it and finally thought that the bare spot in front of the shifter would be nice.

Gonna redo it because it don't look clean enough for me so I ordered this today - http://www.semsons.com/gnlisomowiad.html

Does anyone know the best place to splice into to get power for my hidden that I have behind the dash so that I can get power to my radar detector?

Plug usb into the device and hook to a computer, place picture in the JPEG folder, from the device open PICTURE VIEWER and select picture, click info and select the box that says SHOW AT START UP.

Note this will only work on Garmin GPS's but this can also be done on other brands using a different method.

Got the lighter bracket in the mail today and for anyone looking into a clean way to mount you GPS i highly recommend it. Also I hardwired my under the dash 3 way outlet for my radar detector using the no cut wire taps into the cigarette lighter wires and it works great.
