New Snorkel!
 

Got my snorkel kit today.... Having the hood cut on Wednesday and put on.... I was gonna do it myself but I don't wanna mess it up.... I'll rebuild an engine but I don't wanna go chopping away at my hood.... I'll post more pics on Wednesday!

Not doing it yourself?? Just follow the template and make the cut, not hard at all.

I was gonna but a buddy of mine in deleware used to work for Mercedes as a body guy (better money as train mechanic now) told me if I don't seal it right it will start to rust eventually and I don't want to take a chance on making the cut wrong... I don't have the steadiest hands, I'll spin a wrench all day but when it comes to something like that I'm not taking a chance

Aev? Was it on back order when you ordered it? If so how long did you have to wait?

That is the counterfeit of the aev snorkel. Chinese took a mold off their snorkel. There is a thread about it somewhere here and on aev forum.

Aev shouldn't be on back order. I got mine from quadratec in July.

Orderd one from Northridge a couple of weeks ago. Dave called me and said that they were on back order because of a design change for the 12+ model years.
