UPDATES: Official JK BUGGY by CAROLINA TRUGGIES in shop 9-09
Officially under construction went in shop 4-3-09
but first a little history...
August 4th 2007 my wife and I were struck on the my left side when stopped making a turn on my motorcycle....my wife broke her arm and leg but happy to report she made a full recovery....I took the brunt of the 47mph hit on my left side causing the amputation of my left leg above the knee along with some minor cuts and road rash....WE ARE VERY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE....I now get around pretty good on a prosthetic and me and my wife live life to it's fullest everyday here in NC....naturally I did come into some money from the accident, although it will never replace my leg, I can still have some fun with it!....I've now jokingly come to call my Jeep "The Ultimate Wheelchair"....it will certainly get me where I can't walk!
....NO NEED FOR ANY SYMPATHY, I AM JUST SHARING THIS FOR OTHERS TO NOT CONSIDER ME JUST ANOTHER YUPPY WITH TOO MUCH MONEY TO SPEND!.......NOW enough of this downer shit, and check out what happens when you give a true JEEPER MONEY
ALL WORK AND FABRICATION IS BEING DONE BY ALEX REED AT CAROLINA TRUGGIES IN INDIAN TRAIL, NC

Well I have the wheels...in 18"s. All I can say is that they are heavy (47 lbs per wheel) and holy crap are they nice!
PSC still have their overstock sale on 18s and 20s.
On another note, do you still ride? You could always jockey shift.

bad luck
I hate to hear about a fellow biker going down. I went down hard in April 2000. broke both femurs. lacerated my liver. Know about ur pain. I aint gonna whine about mine.
I too got a jeep recently (last may) I think it's kinda like riding a bike in a way. Wind in yer hair and all. Was thinking the comradery would be akin to that brotherhood I felt on the bike but reading all these posts from folks leaves me thinking not.
Maybe when I get some mud tires on mine we can go wheeling. I hear there are good places up around where ya'll live.

Piginajeep Sounds like you'll be the first with a set of Solid axle 60's under your JK.

I just wanted to say you have an incredible attitude despite having lost your leg.
Looking forward to seeing the buildup.
