Did I miss something, because to me that just looks like survival equipment.

I'd consider the knife and axe to be more of a threat than the shovel... were you a shovel attack victim or something?

 

Maybe he is a zombie... they are always getting hit by shovels.

On that note, what size shovel is that? I was in HD recently but didn't want to pull the trigger on one that was too long or stuck out too much in the back. Just curious where you got it.
