I'll check them again in the morning for a more precise value.

We just removed a set of those shocks in a 10" travel at the shop but I think the customer took them with them. If I stop by there tomorrow I can check the length. The customer replaced them with a full long arm 6 pack set up.

I measured some falcon shocks we took off a JL 9.5" travel measured 27.5" extended for the front and 28.5" extended on the rear. Making the compressed 18" & 19" They are a bit long on the compressed side vs Kings 10" travel at 17.05 " compressed. Longer compressed length leads to less up travel and more bump needed.

would a set of shocks with 27.7" extended and 16.5" compressed be a better fit in the back?

With that rear upper arm hitting the body mount an 18" compressed rear would be about right without moving any brackets. Idealy I would set up the bumps for the tire size clearance and then mount the shocks with the brackets in the right place to maximize the articulation.
