Rod Holder
Not exactly a modification to my JK, but thought I would share it anyway....
Finished this project today - My budget rod holder. The cargo basket is not longer balanced (might be bent a little from previous loads).... http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...q/103_0101.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...q/103_0102.jpg |

I bolted a piece of wood to the front of the cargo carrier, then cut 2" PVC into 18" pieces (using a chop saw). I used an air powered cut off tool to cut the notches for the rods. Mounted the PVC to the wood using 1" lag bots and 2" pipe straps (I think that is what they are called). They are $0.48 for 2. I think it was about $10 in supplies. The pipe was less than $5.00. I also used 2 'I' bolts (I guess that is what they are called) in the front so I can use bungee cords to strap the rods down if needed. Hope that helps. PM if you need anything else. Looks like you are not too far from Carolina Beach (Freeman Park). Have you been there yet? http://www.carolinabeach.org/site_ne...eman_park.html Joe |

The cargo basket is from WalMart. I have had it for a couple of years. I think it was around $70.
