saved a turtle while on the trail
I saved a turtle today!
i thought this picture was so funny and my girl friend agrees. she says the facial expression on the turtle is priceless.

oh, and what happened was, we were driving down a road between trails and i was 2nd in the line and the leader suddenly swirved and missed the poor fella by only inches and i stopped just in time as well and picked him up and got him across the road a little faster. i was half tempted to bring him home.

what is it about me and saving animals? i think i got this from my mom. my mom would always find sick animals and nurse them back to health and for that reason animals seemed to just be attracted to her, and i think part of that wore off on me.
we had a really bad thunder storm tonight and i was out on my balcony watching it and noticed a wierd bird in the tree. so, got my camera, zoomed in on it and took a picture. turns out, its a pariot, or thats what it looked like. i was like whoa... why is a pariot out in the rain? hmm...

anyway, went back inside, and an hour later looked out again at the tree to see if it was still there and nope. suddenly i hear this faint "chirp" and look down on my balcony and who's cowering in the corner soaking wet? mr pariot. so i got some bread and slowly approached him and got him to eat a little bread which was enough for him to get on my fingers and let me bring him inside. so, after a quick trip a local store for some bird seeds and getting him all dried off. got a little dish of food and water for him, and built a jerry ridged cage for him till i can either find his owner or get a decent cage for him. and he's taken a liking to me. he will start chirping if i leave his sight and he doesn't want to get off my sholder. and i've been doing some reading online to see how i'm supose to take care of him. He's not a pariot (if its even a "he"), its a cockatiel.
so whats up with me rescueing animals today? this is two in a row...

Cool man! Props for saving the animals. I was on my way home from work at 12am Friday and saw what I thought was a dog in the road. I pulled over and and tried to call him over to me so he wouldn't get hit by a car. It turns out coyotes don't come to you when you call them.
