Interested to see what people are using to tow their jk. My gf just bought a f150 with 8000 pound tow capacity. Started researching trailers.

I don't have on yet, but I'm looking to buy one. I was thinking about getting a 4 door JKU to tow my 2 door. and that gives the fiancee room for the kids she wants :(

Im pretty sure a 4 door cannot tow a 2 door om a trailer. Im worried a little about girlfriends supercab V8 being enough balls since these jeeps r heavy. Mine is about 4800 pounds. Add a trailer and im up to 7000

I have seen a few guys in our club tow from Erie to Rausch Creek with 1/2 ton trucks. My recommendation is at least a brake controller. The truck will pull fine just needs some boost in the stopping area. And it wasn't the wisest thing I've ever done but I pulled a car hauler with a Honda Accord and around 1500 extra pounds of stereo equipment 2.5 hours away with a 4.0 V6 Ford Ranger with Thornbirds on it. Oh, the dumb things we do when we are young!

My tow rig is the one in the front. That is from last weekend.
Went over to Winchester Bay to the dunes.

I think I'm going to try to find a used Penske diesel box truck. Close off part of the box and turn it into a small sleeping area, then turn the rest of the back into a small shop (tools, fluids and spare parts) and tow the JK on a trailer behind it.
