2011 Dodge Ram
This summer I towed my 98TJ about 500 miles threw mountain pass with my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 with the Hemi and it did great, so I'm thinking it should be able to tow my JKU. correct me If I'm wrong there is about 1000lbs different. the Ram is rated at 10,000lbs towing with the 3.92 gears.

I towed my 4 door with my old 2000 F150 on a 16,000 heavy duty tractor hauler trailer. I was loaded to the hit in my
Truck and Jeep, as I was moving from OK to TX for Coolege. I drove from Tulsa -> Amarillo -> Lubbock -> Dallas, about 14 hours total as I was seein friends along the way.

Yep, E-450 chassis with the V-10. Gets between 7-10mpg depending on what we are doing. Towing one of the Jeeps, it's usually around 7mpg. If we are just towing the boat or the ATV's, we've seen as high as 8.5mpg. Empty, it'll get 9-10mpg all day long. And it pulls really, really well. I have been absolutlely tickled with it thus far. Just over 22k miles.

Yep, it is a 31'er. I've done it both ways with the JKU's, and for us it really came down to the need for the specific trip. When we are just vacationing, we usually flat-tow. But if we are going to go 'wheeling, ie a higher probability for carnage, we will trailer. The trouble with the 31' chassis is that thelooooong rear frame extensions dramatically reduce the tongue weight rating, and especially with the mammoth JKU, it's a real challenge to stay within the advertised ratings.
