Default SR8 6.1 V8 - Can it be mounted in a JK?

There is so much room under the hood of my JK 4-door, that I started to think there would be enough room to drop a 6.1 Hemi in it. Does anyone know if this is possible? How difficult would such a project be? I am figuring that in about 4 years after my warranty runs out, and there are a bunch of used 6.1 liter engines out there, that this would be a great modification to my Jeep.

if burnsville can fit a 6.1 hemi in there, I wouldn't see why not...

In the skyjacker project car as well

You can fit a 426 in there. The problem lies in, if it's worth it. If you have money to burn...then do it. If you want more, wait for the '08.5 and on. You'll get a diesel. I believe DC will get their heads out of their BUMMs, and figure out the monster they created....but I'm drunk, and I love the JK!!!

Do your research thurs 4 or more companies that i found in 30 mins. be careful though a few overcharge BIG time. So chose carefully grass hopper. And yes they are very expensive 10 grand for the motor alone. Hope this help your decision if your on a lower budget get the 5.7 they almost have the e.c.u figured out to run the M.D.S. Good luck.

Camp Crocker is one of the best at the Hemi swaps, so is Screamin Lizards.

Crocker will be doing mine this summer. A 6.1 Hemi
